This project began alongside a friend in the community who wanted a new way to hang his various vests and plate carriers in his storage area but was surprised at how expensive plastic alternative hangers (with similar hook ends) were, and had read at least a few cases of them breaking. So we came up with these! To be clear: Photo 1 is a hanger of the original run, purely to demonstrate usage, photos 2 and 3 show the more recent pattern. I no longer use that more pitted par stock and take extra care to paint them nicer. Reserving the right to deviate as it makes no functional difference and little in terms of form, The main body of the hanger is usually made from 1/4" spring steel round stock a relative in industry got me, significantly more rigid stuff than mild steel, not that any of the original run (the main bodies of which were made from aging 3/16" mild steel) have bent at all when used as intended. The hook portion will be made of 3/16" spring steel. This stock will be used up at which point a likely permanent transition to 1/4" mild steel will occur (I have enough spring steel for 15+ hangers as of initial posting) but we'll play that by ear. I also fully disclose that these are handmade and while ideas are ongoing for more precise jigs and fabrication tooling, these are mostly done with mere hammer, anvil, vise and one hook jig made from a 2" hex nut for the hook ends, thus sometimes come out a little aysmmetrical, wonky, etc. I would never let anything out the door not thoroughly tested and relatively aesthetically pleasing, but if this is a problem, inquire first or hold off until I perfect the last of my process (Though to be fair I've already sold a dozen to friends with zero issues.) Intended use is quite straightforward per photos. Other uses outside of airsoft: -Anything else you wear a similar vest for: Military, Police, Weighted fitness vest, etc -Hip waders -Overalls -I had an old camping backpack hanging up with one before we donated it, worked great -most anything else you'd use an exceedingly heavy duty coat hanger for! They are finished one way: Rustoleum high performance enamel gloss black. THE GOOD STUFF. Inquire for other colors I may begrudgingly be open to for full cost of the can.
